Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
when there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand,
to be loved as to love;

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

All the relationships that have
been damaged in my whole life

those relationships.
But, O Lord, if there is anything

If I need to go to a person because

ask to be forgiven.
Remove whatever bitterness may
be in my heart, Lord, and fill the

Soul of Christ, sanctify me
Body of Christ, save me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me
Water from Christ’s side, wash me
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
O good Jesus, hear me
Within Thy wounds hide me
Suffer me not to be separated from Thee
From the malicious enemy defend me
In the hour of my death call me
And bid me come unto Thee
That I may praise Thee with Thy saints
and with Thy angels forever and ever. Amen

O Blessed Face of my kind Savior,

43. An Act of Consecration to The Sacred Heart of Jesus

I give myself and consecrate to the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ, my person and my life, my actions, pains and sufferings, so that I may be unwilling to make use of any part of my being other than to honor, love and glorify the Sacred Heart. This is my unchanging purpose, namely, to be all His, and to do all things for the love of Him, at the same time renouncing with all my heart whatever is displeasing to Him. I therefore take You, O Sacred heart, to be the only object of my love, the guardian of my life, my assurance of salvation, the remedy of my weakness and inconstancy, the atonement for all the faults of my life and my sure refuge at the hour of death.

Be then, O Heart of goodness, my justification before God the Father, and turn away from me the strokes of his righteous anger. O Heart of love, I put all my confidence in You, for I fear everything from my own wickedness and frailty, but I hope for all things from Your goodness and bounty.

Remove from me all that can displease You or resist Your holy will; let your pure love imprint Your image so deeply upon my heart, that I shall never be able to forget You or to be separated from You.

May I obtain from all Your loving kindness the grace of having my name written in Your Heart, for in You I desire to place all my happiness and glory, living and dying in bondage to You. Amen.

44. An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

45. Prayer While Visiting The Most Blessed Sacrament by St. Alphonsus Liguori

My Lord Jesus Christ, for the love which You bear to men, You remain night and day in this Sacrament full of compassion and of love, awaiting, calling, and welcoming all who come to visit You. I believe that You are present in the Sacrament of the Altar: I adore You from the abyss of my nothingness, and I thank You for all the graces which You have bestowed upon me and in particular for having given me Yourself in this Sacrament, for having given me your holy Mother Mary for my advocate, and for having called me to visit You in this chapel. I now salute

Your most loving Heart: and this for three ends:

1. In thanksgiving for this great gift;
2. To make amends to You for all the outrages which You receive in this Sacrament from all Your enemies;
3. I intend by this visit to adore You in all the places on earth in which You are the least revered and the most abandoned.

My Jesus, I love You with all my heart. I grieve for having so many times offended Your infinite goodness. I promise with Your grace never more to offend You in the future.

Now, miserable and unworthy though I be, I consecrate myself to You without reserve;
I give You my entire will, my affections, my desires, and all that I possess. From now on dispose of me and of all that I have as You please. All that I ask of You and desire is Your holy love, final perseverance, and the perfect accomplishment of Your will. I recommend to You the souls in purgatory; but especially those who had the greatest devotion to the most Blessed Sacrament and to the Blessed Virgin Mary. I also recommend to You all poor sinners.

My dear Saviour, I unite all my affections with the affections of Your most loving Heart; and I offer them, thus united, to Your eternal Father, and beseech Him in Your name to vouchsafe, for Your love, to accept them. Amen.

46. Prayer for Vocations

O Holy Spirit, Spirit of wisdom and divine love, impart Your knowledge, understanding, and counsel to youth that they may know the vocation wherein they can best serve God. Give them courage and strength to follow God’s holy will. Guide their uncertain steps, strengthen their resolutions, shield their chastity, fashion their minds, conquer their hearts, and lead them to the vineyards where they will labor in God’s holy service. Amen.

47. Litany of Humility

Rafael Cardinal Merry del Val (1865-1930), Secretary of State for Pope Saint Pius X
O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,
Deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being loved…
From the desire of being extolled …
From the desire of being honored …
From the desire of being praised …
From the desire of being preferred to others…
From the desire of being consulted …
From the desire of being approved …
From the fear of being humiliated …
From the fear of being despised…
From the fear of suffering rebukes …
From the fear of being calumniated …
From the fear of being forgotten …
From the fear of being ridiculed …
From the fear of being wronged …
From the fear of being suspected …
That others may be loved more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I …
That, in the opinion of the world,
others may increase and I may decrease …
That others may be chosen and I set aside …
That others may be praised and I unnoticed …
That others may be preferred to me in everything…
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should… Amen.

O my God! I ask of Thee for myself and for those whom I hold dear, the grace to fulfill perfectly Thy Holy Will, to accept for love of Thee the joys and sorrows of this passing life, so that we may one day be united together in heaven for all Eternity. Amen.

51. Prayer at Bedtime

O my God, I adore you, and I love you with all my heart. I thank you for having created me, having saved me by your grace, and for having preserved me during this day. Protect me this night, and may your grace be with me always and with those I love. Amen.

And wake me with the morning light. Amen.

54. Prayer for Students

Father of Light and Wisdom,
thank you for giving me
a mind that can know
and a heart that can love.
Help me to keep learning every day of my life–
no matter what the subject may be.
Let me be convinced that all knowledge leads to you
and let me know how to find you and love you
in all the things you have made.
Encourage me when the studies are difficult
and when I am tempted to give up
Enlighten me when my brain is slow
and help me to grasp the truth held out to me.
Grant me the grace to put my knowledge to use
in building the kingdom of God on earth
so that I may enter the kingdom of God in heaven.
Amen.

55. My Finger Prayer

Here is a prayer that uses the child’s hand as a reminder of what to pray for.
My thumb is closest to my heart – pray for my family.
My index finger points out things we don’t always see; it instructs me – pray for teachers.
My middle finger stands taller than the rest – remember to pray for the president and leaders around the world.
My ring finger is weak and cannot stand alone well – pray for the weak and the sick.
My pinkie finger is the smallest – remember to pray for myself.

56. The Lord’s Prayer with Motions

Hand motions and actions are helpful for remembering words to a prayer. Here are suggested motions for the Our Father.
Our Father (reach your right hand up as if you’re grasping an adult’s hand high up)
Who art in heaven (raise both hands up high)
Hallowed by thy name (bring hands together palm-to-palm in front of chest, as if in prayer)
Thy Kingdom come (raise outstretched hands above head in a V shape and spin all the way around)
Thy will be done (cross arms in front of chest and bow head)
On earth (point open hands down toward the earth)
As it is in heaven (swoop hands both up over head)
Give us this day our daily bread (pretend to eat a piece of bread)
And forgive us our trespasses (pretend to wash hands)
As we forgive those who trespass against us (pretend to wash hands of person beside you)
And lead us not into temptation (hold flat palm out in front of body in a “stop” gesture)
But deliver us from evil (hug yourself)

57. Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
St. Francis of Assisi

58. PRAYER TO ST. THERESE

O little St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, who during your short life on earth became a mirror of angelic purity, of love strong as death, and of wholehearted abandonment to God, now that you rejoice in the reward of your virtues, cast a glance of pity on me as I leave all things in your hands. Make my troubles your own – speak a word for me to our Lady Immaculate, whose flower of special love you were – to that Queen of heaven “who smiled on you at the dawn of life.” Beg her as the Queen of the heart of Jesus to obtain for me by her powerful intercession, the grace I yearn for so ardently at this moment, and that she join with it a blessing that may strengthen me during life. Defend me at the hour of death, and lead me straight on to a happy eternity. Amen.

59. Prayer to Saint Cecilia

Dear Saint Cecilia, one thing we know for certain about you is that you became a heroic martyr in fidelity to your divine Bridegroom. We do not know that you were a musician but we are told that you heard Angels sing.
Inspire musicians to gladden the hearts of people by filling the air with God’s gift of music and reminding them of the divine Musician who created all beauty. Amen.

60. Prayer to St. Mary Magdalen

Saint Mary Magdalene,
woman of many sins, who by conversion

in His glorious presence,
please intercede for me, so that some day
I may share in the same everlasting joy. Amen.

61. Prayer to Saint Jude

Most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of his enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless causes, of things almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly add your own request here and that I may praise God with you and all the elect forever. I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen.

O Blessed St. Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of God, I pray you to join with me in praising God the Father through his divine Son who died on the cross and rose again to give us sinners new life. Through the holy Name of Jesus, pray that we may obtain from the eternal Father the favor we ask for (state intention).

We have been unfaithful to the unfailing love of God the Father; beg of Jesus mercy for us his brothers and sisters. Amid the splendors of God’s loving presence, do not forget the sorrows of whose who weep. By your Prayers and those of your most holy spouse, our blessed Lady, may the love of Jesus answer our call of confident hope. Amen.

63. Prayer to St. Joseph 2

Oh, St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interest and desires. Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most Loving of Fathers. Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you, and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departed souls, pray for me.

64. Prayer to St. Anthony

O Saint Anthony, Saint of Miracles, Saint of Help. I also have need of your assistance; I have need of this special favor (mention your favor). Therefore, console me in my present necessity and grant me the help that, with full confidence, I hope for.
Amen.

65. Prayer to Our Lady of Perpetual Help

Mother of Perpetual Help, you have been blessed and favored by God. You became not only the Mother of the Redeemer, but the Mother of the redeemed as well. We come to you today as you loving children. Watch over us and take care of us. As you held the child Jesus in your loving arms, so take us in your arms. Be a mother ready at every moment to help us. For God who is mighty has done great things for you, and his mercy is from age to age on those who love him. Our greatest fear is that in time of temptation, we may fail to call out to you, and become lost children. Intercede for us, dear Mother, in obtaining pardon for our sins, love for Jesus, final perseverance, and the grace always to call upon you, Mother of Perpetual Help. Amen.

66. Prayer to St. Michael

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in our day of battle; protect us against the deceit and wickedness of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly

67. Prayer to Saint Gabriel

Blessed Saint Gabriel, Archangel, We beseech thee to intercede for us at the throne of divine mercy: As thou didst announce to Mary the mystery of the Incarnation, so through thy Prayers may we receive strength of faith and courage of spirit, and thus find favor with God and redemption through Christ Our Lord. May we sing the praise of God our Savior with the angels and saints in heaven forever and ever. Amen.

68. Prayer to Saint Raphael

Blessed Saint Raphael, Archangel, We beseech thee to help us in all our needs and trials of this life, as thou, through the power of God, didst restore sight and give guidance to young Tobit. 80. The Stations of the Cross

First Station (Jesus is condemned to death).
Jesus is brought before Pilate to be judged. He is innocent but he is condemned and taken away to be put to death.

Second Station (Jesus takes up his cross).
The cross is very heavy. Jesus knows it will be painful but he accepts it willingly to save us from our sins.

Third Station (Jesus falls for the first time.)
The heavy cross drives the thorns still deeper into his brow and Jesus is weak from loss of blood. He falls and the soldiers roughly drag him up again.

Fourth Station (Jesus meets his mother).
When Mary sees Jesus, her heart is broken. He is covered with dirt and blood. Mary weeps because He is suffering terribly and there is no way she can help him.

Fifth Station (Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus.)
Jesus is so weak he can no longer carry the cross. The soldiers fear that he will faint or die on the way. So they ask a man named Simon to help him.

Sixth Station (Veronica wipes the face of Jesus).
A good lady runs to Jesus and wipes his face with her veil. How she pitied him and how anxious she was to do something for him.

Seventh Station (Jesus falls the second time.
Again Jesus staggers under the weight of the cross and falls heavily to the ground. The cruel soldiers, with kicks and blows, force him to his feet again.

Eighth Station (Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem).
Jesus meets some women who are grieving and crying loudly. He tells them not to weep for him but for all the sinners who will not repent and be saved.

Ninth Station (Jesus falls the third time).
Jesus is now near the place where he will be fastened to the cross. He thinks of all the pain he must still suffer. All his strength leaves him and he falls to the earth.

Tenth Station (Jesus is stripped of his clothes).
The long journey to Calvary is now finished. The soldiers roughly tear off his clothes. Jesus is humiliated and treated like a common criminal.

Eleventh Station (Jesus is nailed to the cross).
At last, Jesus is placed upon the cross. The soldiers then drive nails through his hands and feet. The cross is then raised and placed into the earth.

Twelfth Station (Jesus dies on the cross).
How patiently Jesus suffers. For three long hours his body hangs on the cross. He speaks kindly to the good thief. He lovingly talks to Mary. At last he bows his head and dies.

Thirteenth Station (The body of Jesus is taken down for the cross). After his death, friends take Jesus down from the cross. Gently they lower his body into the arms of his mother, Mary. With great love she again hands her beloved son.

Fourteenth Station (The body of Jesus is laid in the tomb).
The body of Jesus is placed in a tomb. Soldiers seal the tomb and block the entrance with a great stone. The followers of Jesus return to their homes to wait for Jesus to rise from the dead on the third day, as he promised.
